Poem -

SAILOR BOY AT WAR

Never to return to this shore would he be
Never would he again see the likes of me
Another country another coastline another sea
I will never forget the year of nineteen forty three

The last words to me will be with me forever more
Whispered softly on this deserted sea shore
All this in the name of fighting and war
Who knows why and the reason what for

Sailor boy in my heart you will always remain
I'm left behind to feel the anguish and pain
God is crying too when it comes onto rain
The world should never be at war again
