Saltpan Adorner

Saltpan Adorner

Memories of her,Β
hanging from meat hooks.

If you grab a piece,Β
you will haveΒ forsook.

Maybe dowse the fear,
grab it by the corner.

Breath in and exhale,
Surf the saltpan adorner.

Look at it with both eyes,Β
Blink twice and think since.
Β
Gaze deeply into memory,Β
Then shudder and wince.Β

Turn around and steal it,Β
chords falsely played.

Say how you’re sorry,
then let memory fade.

You stained it with cuts,
A third time is shameful.

Heed she was the master,
forget you were collegial.

Unhinge your feelings,
Let the besotted fight the fire

Return it back to the hook,Β
And retie the piano wire.
