"SANITARY LANDING" (in honor of our returning soldiers)

In a state of environmental discontent
They clean up the tin cans
Washed up on the shores, of "Sanitary Landing"
The fictitious town
Brought to light by governmental scandal
And the need for war,
Represented by hired guns at Newspapers
And gossip columns,
Where sanitation workers like my friend
Are pissed on
Then thrown, into the very dumpsters
They once cared for
And now find themselves fighting....
Where's their voice?
Their village voice, they were promised
As protection
From the governmental hand-me-downs
And rotten T.V. dinners
Which force-feed the souls of honest soldiers
Forgotten,
And left to die like the tin cans
Washed up
And left rusted on the shore,
Of a fictitious town
Called,
"Sanitary Landing"...

This brought tears to my eyes. The tragedy behind this awful truth needs more awareness. My heart goes out to all the ones who fought for our country. I wish I could do something to help. Excellent write Tony.
