SATURDAY AFTERNOONS AT THE THEATRE

SATURDAY AFTERNOONS AT THE THEATRE

Once a month to the theatre we went
That is how our Saturday afternoons were spent
Quality time my mum and me
What wonderful shows did we see

Going to the theatre on your own is not the same
Mum and I know that cancer is to blame
However I reflect on the Saturday afternoons we had
Always happy occasions and never sad

Mum the smile on your face at the end of each show
Meant more to me than you will ever know
As I hope to go to the theatre with you once more
The cancer, the chemo means I am not so sure

I will wrap up this poem and finish with this
Saturday afternoons at the theatre were heaven and bliss
