Saturday Night

Saturday Night

     You couldn’t hold me
it was Saturday night
but you held your chilled wine glass
as I watched in fright
I knew what was coming
I was sure it wouldn’t be me
you started slurring and falling asleep
give me some credit please babe
I ain’t no dummy

you couldn’t hold me
it was Saturday night
you finally passed out
right on my couch
I did what I could do
put you to bed in your clothes
i comforted you
now it’s morning
get out
