Ode to the Country

I want to live with you in the country
Just like Robert Frost poetry
Where life moves as the wind takes it
I want to live with you in the country
breathe fresh air, as we wake
play with you on pristine snow;
Skate on frozen ponds, like children
till it gets too dark to see
We’ll make our own roads to travel on,
And be contented vagabonds
I want to live with you in the country
love you, loud and hard, and wake the dogs
On cold winter nights,
then watch our lantern's flame
burn bright, in shades of gold
and shadows dancing
outside our window
on snow covered Evergreens
our skin clinging under warm blankets
I want to live with you in the country,
Smell the fragrance of strawberry
in your hair, after you shower
I want to live with you in the country
Feed on your fresh baked pecan pie
and sip lemonade
on lazy summer afternoons
