SAUSAGES AND BEANS

Taken from the fridge onto a oven tray
Will eventually be consumed for my tea today
They were prodded and poked by a fork
No escape for them and can't go for a walk

In the oven now on gas mark eight
Thirty minutes is all I will have to wait
Think I will go mad and open a tin of beans
A luxury meal served in my t shirt and jeans

Before you ask I did duly check and make sure
I had to if I'm honest as I closed the oven door
All the sausages were no more than two metres apart
A meal that will bring happiness to my heart
