SAVIOR

Ain't I a man?
So many women- who can choose?
Never knew what you had-
Until she left- and you lose her
Took me a long time to learn
Hard-headed made a soft behind-
And she was wicked in bed
Some use sex like a drug-
To forget our pain-
And still- we remain hot-blooded
Turn we loose-
They don't want us to be-
What we need to be
My mother was a Black goddess
White men and white women-
Wanna f--k us-
And call it freedom
We're more than dust-
And more than numbers
Hard for them to count us-
Every 1 of us die-
2 more come back
Make some noise-
Let 'em know we still here
Might save the world-
Like the women love Jesus
Savior-
When a man loves a woman
I believe in you and I
And love never dies
Here's the plan-
Brother- love your sister
Her mind and soul-
Will be the crown and throne
Our women sing-
"The Praisesong Of The Widow"
Black gods were dead-
See I become reborn
I was a prodigal son-
Been to hell and back
For the love o' my people-
I'm Black and I'm proud
Might look like us-
But can't serve 2 masters
Children of Isis-
Must test your heart
I'll be your Sun-
Woman- be my Earth
Feel me deep inside you-
Rhythm of the Soul People
They wanted to change us-
Re-arrange our structure
A swarm of devils-
Tried to kill our Father
Can anything good come out of the ghetto?
Or out of Nazareth? Or out of Ethiopia?
Savior-
When a man loves a woman
I believe in you and I
And love never dies

Thank you Shah,
Sometimes, I don't know if the piece did what it's supposed to do until I get a response. If we're trying to change the world, we might throw up some dirt- but I'm not always nice- but my intentions are pure. My next piece is for the women. Talk to me.
Peace and Love,
James Whaley
