The Scarlet Fox

The Scarlet Fox

I am cunning, quick to act
I live in solitude, not in a pack
For the rodents that live amongst the rocks
Call me the Scarlet Fox

Dodge the bullet and jump the traps
The day goes on, time elapse
They cannot keep me by chain and lock
For I am the Scarlet Fox

They hear my name by timid call
And see my print of slender paw
But I am the one who killed the ox
It was I, the Scarlet Fox

They see me in the windowsill
Waiting for the coming kill
In the farm, the dog may mock
But I am the Scarlet Fox

After all the years gone by
Still, I am cunning and sly
My name rings out amongst the rocks
The name Scarlet Fox
