Scoring The goal
I know I’ll miss 100 % of the shots I don’t take
But if I shoot and miss, to reality I must awake
I’m not afraid of missing my first shot at romance
I’m afraid you won’t give me a second chance
If I knew one day I would score, to be with you
Then missing a few shots isn’t so bad from that view
For missing isn’t what brings fear to my thoughts
I could miss on one thousand shots
It’s the thought of never scoring that goal
And my utter most lack of control
Because you’re the goalie, the best of your kind
And well I won’t score unless you make up your mind
Your GAA is a perfect zero thus far in life
No man able to put a ring on your finger, no mans wife
For scoring a date is not my desire
For you I want in old life to retire
I’m a future thinker in the sense of the word
And 33% of me is a romantic nerd
So I’ll practice my shot, and conspire where to aim
This one shot could change your name
I pray hard that I would only need to aim once
Letting me score as your response
It may be on the 5th or 6th shot that I final score
I’ll camp out waiting for a pass on the back door
Who knows maybe my goal your dad will assist
And he’ll let me jump the waiting list
To be a sniper is what I desire
To shoot top corner faster then fire
So when I skate to the slot
And wind up for my snip shot
I hope your eyes and reflexes are perfectly ready
And your catching glove is perfectly steady
So that if I score on one of my shots
I know that’s your giving me a chance within your thoughts
And blessed be the day
When you say yes and we go on our way Â
