Scrooge and the Raven

Just around the corner
Is Christmas in the
Darkest Night sitting
On Scroogeās grave
Is a Raven who is
Deep in sleep when he
Is woken up by the sound
of someone saying humbug
he looked around and only saw
A crow sitting on the mortuary
asleep as the wind blows
The leaves from the eaves
From the church
The moon is full the stars
Are bright on Christmas Eve
In the church by the Scrooge
Grave is midnight mass
As the children choir sings
Silent night as the Raven sits
On Scroogeās grave he hears
Humbug as the crow sits
By the gargoyles of the church
As the priest says, the prayers
For the night, the Raven hears
Humbug
Christmas Day has come
A cold morning as the sun rises
As the steam rises us from the graves
The raven flies to whereĀ Ā
The crow is and gives himĀ
Half a biscuit like the Raven
Is saying merry Christmas
To the crow as they hear
Humbug one last time
scrooge and the raven.

Even in the depths of winter, when Christmas draws near a little kindness goes a very long way and with a will .. you have clearly demonstrated that any differences can be forgotten ..
Nicely poemed Greg & with much respect, I send you & yours my very best wishes this Christmas and for the incoming new year .. Kindest Regards, your friend this side of the Pond, NevilleĀ
