Like a mermaid tail

you swept the colors on the canvas

and I was swept away

by the inner beauty coming foreword

and the expression on your face

was an appointment

that belonged to only you.

Not a fisherman of the sea

would ever discover such beauty

as I have found in you.

You magically shone scales

that only love could imbue and glow

from within your soul

it traveled to the nebula of my eyes

and it swam to my heart.

Like a mermaid tail

you created islands in my mind

imitating echoes of love

and gave me a fish

when there were none to be caught.

Your paintings celebrate

a life together with your lover

with wants and desires

and like a midst all around you

you painted all these things.

Stories to tell

you told them well on the canvas

for we were each other’s muse

born in the Light

streaming from the window.

No one will know

the suffrages and happiness

the tears and the sorrow

or the meandering thoughts

which abounded.

Like a mermaids tail

We walked along the beach

kicking up the sand

feeling the seashells and rocks

beneath our feet.

Painting our life forever

will be the blessings we wear

draped over our bodies

as we made love

listening to the quiet sea.

Like a mermaids tail

you will clutch onto me when I am old

and guide me into the kingdom

where you came from.

And for all the tribulations

the joy of your love

is the one thing that saved me.

Painting me the fishermen

leaning against a palm tree

I will be forever grateful

that God brought to me your love.

In poverty and in richness

your love will hover over me

never abandoning me.
