Sea Shell

Sea Shell

milky white cloud

coats in a haze,

but brilliant deep purple

peaks from its veins,

then pools on the rim,

seeming there to brim.

opened full and bright

like a butterfly in sight.

you seem to have given

a taste of living art

to she who sees such

as a peephole to the heart.

consider this in depth

as the shell fades away,

that an idea like that

lingers, long past decay.

thank you for your eyes

that see beauty rise,

while the sea battles on

till’ all shells are gone.
