Season of Change

Season of Change

Season of Change

Autumn came,

Leaves turn from plain green to vivid colours of gold and red, making the world a different kind of colourful.

Changes in the air felt mysterious and exciting. A plain season made mesmerizing to the right person; I had no idea how to become that person.

Free of fear to show my natural, greater beauty; more and more changes than meets the eye.

I'm falling,

 I am falling.

I am the fall.

No control or desire was great enough to stop this, some say its the start of a new beginning-

I believe it’s the end of a sunny life

And the start of a dying future.

That's how it struck autumn for me.

How do I know best? I am still stuck on the days of being summer.

I wasn't afraid to be different though others were afraid that I was. My beauty wasn't afraid to be seen - nor was the autumn to tire for a show.

Suddenly!

My life wasn't about being young and fresh and green, I had to be autumn. I had no other choice.

I'll miss having my branches being treated to my every need. Being nurtured and cared for like no other tree.

I grew fond of autumn, yet I can never go back to the fear of this season, I soon had to take the step-

and fall from the tree. My memories of green will still flow through my leaves.

I am autumn now,

Changed into something I didn't want to become. Nevertheless, the fear of change didn't stop me from the love I have of becoming autumn.

Nor did it stop me from fulfilling my life in summer.

Change of season infers to the change a person goes through growing up. 'Leaves turn from plain green to vivid colors of gold and red,' this portrays the changes the body goes through. The 2nd paragraph shows how it can be 'mesmerizing' to some people, and some may find it exciting to grow up and go through them changes in life. 'I had no idea how to become that person' Some may struggle to grow up because they like how they are now and haven't convinced there personality to grow up yet.

'I'm falling,

 I am falling.

I am the fall.'- its structured like this for many reasons; the drop down to the next line below actually portrays the fall of the leaves from the tree. It also structures the writers feelings of the changes.'i'm falling' is the first realization of it then the continued falling of the words portray a further realization of the changes the writers going through in life. Hense why the words are structured like this.

'No control or desire was great enough to stop this' simply means you cannot control growing up.

'Some say its the start of a new beginning' - (Some people think you've got your whole future ahead of you)

'I believe it’s the end of a sunny life

And the start of a dying future'. - whereas my intake on it is that its the end of having a care free life, to finally doing things for yourself.

'That's how it struck autumn for me' Is the power line that in a whole brings in the understanding that this is it' its actually happening now and i cannot change this.

'How do I know best? I am still stuck on the days of being summer.' Children do not know best as they grow up that's why adults teach them right from wrong, yet nobody teaches you what exactly to do when your adult, nobody warns you that once you hit a certain point in your life, you can never go back.

'I wasn't afraid to be different though others were afraid that I was' This relates to life in general, it portrays that you should be yourself and always show the child inside of you, yet if you did that it might get grief for it from others eg, childish behavior, you need to grow up. Those remarks that make you not show how you really was and forgetting that there's a child inside each of you.

'My beauty wasn't afraid to be seen - nor was the autumn to tired for a show.' My childishness wanted to come out, from showing acts of childish behavior, just like my body wants to become an adult/ the tres want to change to autumn.

Suddenly is on its own line and with an exclamations mark for a reason, the change from being a child to being an adult suddenly hits you and becomes real, from being looked after to all of a sudden  having to do things on your own.

'I'll miss having my branches being treated to my every need. Being nurtured and cared for like no other tree' this simply means being young you get looked after and you don't realize how much you depend on the person who takes care of you.

'I soon had to take the step-

and fall from the tree.' The drop down of the line means the step off the that you take, the leaves having to fall off the tree metaphorical portray the big step you take from being a child to an adult. 'My memories of green will still flow through my leaves.' Symbolizing that you'll never forget the memories of being a child.

'the fear of change didn't stop me from the love I have of becoming autumn.' it sounds like the writer all of a sudden loves autumn, that's not the case. It simply means that you get used to it and 'Nor did it stop me from fulfilling my life in summer' means you have to become autumn because you don't have a choice of falling from the tree (becoming an adult) you'll always have the memories of being a child (being in summer) and everyone will always have a child inside of them.

Beautiful write!  Autumn is my favorite season; it has a spiritual beauty that is breathtaking and speaks of portents of change and discovery.  You guidance through this write is very informative.  I see it is a "right of passage" and an aging into wisdom.  One never leaves the child behind.  Well done!
