Seasonal Affected Disease

Seasonal Affected Disease

I walked to the beach in Cape Town,
the sense of freedom and light was tremendous,
no more 'sad,' the gloom was forgotten,
so lifted, as though my soul had risen.

Oh not to be in England, now that spring is here,
I knew Europe, they asked me: 'Why did you leave?'
Both ways, we all leave for one reason or another,
how often are we interrupted by a fawning lover?

You can not return, you are a product of that time,
but boy, it's entrenched, indelible, above all;
whenever I want to make my face smile, I draw
from my library, take me on a guided tour.

Sometimes I laugh so much, the clouds begin to part,
they asked me what was best, I didn't know where to start.
