Poem -

Second City

I am so alone;

But

in the big city im

never truly alone.

For there are multitudes

of people

living wondrous

extraordinary lives,

and by me,

existing in the realm of their atmosphere,

I'm apart of it.

I'm apart of their lives;

families;

I share in their joy;

while my sadness festers in the corner;

And in this city

with so much space

I can finally grow;

look at my reflection in the windows;

face to face

toe to toe.

Looking at that other me-

I'm not so alone.

This is a motivational piece. Albeit one is not alone, the pain often goes unseen. We hide from self and community, when we ought to reach out to our peers.
