Secret Serenade...

Faces that we see, we confess, only to the images looking back,
With darkness I plead, we undress, only to the people that lack,
Who do we change for?
Ourselves?
Who do we hold on for?
Someone else?
Stitching my face,
Is personality hell,
An overwhelming pain,
Is this my final masquerade?
A lonely presence I embrace,
This is my secret serenade.
I see lips moving,
I hear voices judging,
I walk through a garden of reason,
Time will tell, if I ever find meaning,
Day after day,
I'm running out of change!
Night after night,
My image, an ugly sight!
Did I just hear that right?
Is this just another emotional fight?
I witness, eyes looking up and down,
Too many tiny voices, in this nasty crowd,
I think I'll breathe in a little,
I think I'll adjust my tight top,
I think I'll start to mingle in,
I think I'll hide, as I feel lost,
An overwhelming pain,
Is this my final masquerade?
A lonely presence I embrace,
This is my secret serenade.
I dwell, on darkened whispers,
So does all brothers and sisters,
I suppose, I'm not all that different,
But still,
My face serenades a secret...
The secret is, that I change,
I have,
Overwhelming pain,
This is,
My final masquerade,
A lonely presence,
I still embrace,
This is,
My secret serenade
My secret serenade...
