Secrets of the sea
Secrets of the sea
Under my feet, moulding and sinking
Millions of tiny mineral particles and rockÂ
Embrace my feet, not cold nor hard
It was my cushion where upon I sat thinking
My fingers tracing patterns, freehand
Shallow grooves being filled in by themselvesÂ
Leaving just a whisper of what I had writtenÂ
So many of my thoughts gently erased by sand
I hug my knees tight to my chest and dream
As I watch the shore waters ebb and flowÂ
Filling in my verse and taking them out to sea
As if they’d never been written or seen
The sound of the ocean, repetitive and reassuringÂ
crashing upon itself since time began
How many words, verses, images has it taken?
If it were a book it would be one worth enduringÂ
So many outpourings as I sit deep in thought
Looking out to the vastness of varying azure
So many secrets and words written, and lostÂ
Held within the waters, never given back once caught

Never thought of all the lovers, dreamers and castle builders hopes washed away by the waves.
Great food for thought, hungry ocean in search of your dreams.
Thanks for an inspiring read
