See the Fading

See the Fading

The trees sport colors bright
Reds
Oranges
And yellows
Like Nature’s art
They burst from the trees
Reds
Oranges
And yellows
Like colors burst from a page
The trees are ablaze in
Hues of
Red
Orange
And yellow
But a flame burning bright
Won’t burn long
See the fading
Reds
Oranges
And yellows
The flames die out and fall
As ashes
Shriveled remnants of what once was
Red
Orange
And yellow
The earth sleeps
Beneath a blanket of frost
Or is it dead and buried?
Will
Reds
Oranges
And yellows
Ever be seen again?
