Seeking Love in a Raging Storm

 Seeking Love in a Raging Storm

Come the time I start believing in your love again,
Will circumstances carry my momentum, back?
Leaving you in the distance; an object out of reach;
 A  sweet whispering voice against the raging storm
.
Am I to re- consider, the merits of predestination?
 Is the future already written; or can I force the hand
Of miracles, for the sake of my comfort; my longing?
 I know nothing certain, locked inside this mortal coil
 .
 There’s always a danger, in movement and aspirations
Of the heart, and even with the brightest, most gilded
Hopes illuminating the path; the gates of our paradise
 May shift like mercury from the outstretched hand.
.
It’s not with the quality of discernment, but recklessness
We weave dreams of endless love and sweet promises;
 Should our hopes spring eternal till the rainbows end,
Where winking Leprechauns may wait with sacks of ashes?

Thanks for comment, Cherie...yeah that image at the end I kept seeing, so I could not exclude it; fits the tone I figured; not a terribly optimistic poem to be sure lol....I love experimenting with putting words together, I think I would stop writing if I couldn't do that...and just for clarification, I don't necessarily write what I believe in, by nature I'm a hopeless romantic for the most part, yes love is indeed the most powerful force around, no denying, hey I always enjoy your commentary....I read a comment Jim made about me today, claiming that I can pick apart poetry very well and get into the mind of the writer; I was flattered, but I think he should be aware of your great ability to dissect a poem as well, one of a kind... also enjoy and thanks again for thought provoking words...cheers sis, stay well
