Seize the Day (Tribute to Robin Williams)

The place I live is just a little darker

Another light that once illuminated;

Warm and bright, has faded black

 And I’m too tired and slow minded

To look around to find another, that                  

 Would ever shine so bright,

For just a little while I sit and reminisce

And find myself in such a melancholy way;

 Still in disbelief at the news of yesterday:

A vibrant man who seemed to understand

 The thoughts of poets and philosophers

Has closed his voice in deafening silence

Gone is that gift of wit and laugher, gone   

 Amidst life’s dark moments we still suffer;

...

Sad, when the ‘way marks’ disappear,

But alas, I turn away my disbelieving ear     

 To pleasant things to cheer my way, and 

 Obey the voice who nonchalantly stated  

 The truest words that ever be said

 And I now hear them so clarion in my head;

 ‘Seize the day... Seize the day
