Selfish Souls

We are blind and can only see
Anything we do individually
For when do we peer over the edge
Into the life of he whom with we agree
But is he even a key in that door, your life,
That granite door locked for eternity?
It is our way to believe only we are ever right
But what happens when success is out of sight
A regressive reaction on the ledge
In our minds, when we receive a fright
Perhaps they, not me, myself and I, are right?
Do not blame me, I too can only see
The walls of my own heart and soul to be,
But how can we change such a dastardly
Catastrophically commonplace
Calamity?
Maybe such a thing shall never occur,
But perhaps, your mind might look to defer
Responsibility
Onto your heart, but instead prefer
To learn from another, be they entrepreneur
Or amateur.
It doesn't really matter.
We all have selfish souls.
It's your job to learn.
Mine too, but the latter
Thought that I had to learn
Was to realise
Once and for all
Humans never learn.
