Semidetached

Semidetached

I'm semidetached
from you,
Mother.

A thin brick wall,
keeping me stuck
to you
back to back,
Siamese sisters,
one heart,
one liver,
two kidneys to share,
two heads.

We are a medieval dragon,
Mother,
walking on four legs,
across the lord's fields,
our tongues on fire,
our chest one,
a big one,
breathing through two noses,
mixing
in our lungs,
your anxiety with
my desperation.

Mother,
I'm a semidetached
with my garage,
my lounge,
my rooms and kitchen,
and your brick wall,
stuck
to my back.
