Poem -

Shades of Blue

All I can see is shades of blue
Blue dripping on the floor
Feeling like my life is such a bore
I’m trapped in a cage and they have the keys
There only four walls and no door

For some it’s the chase
For others it’s the prey
For me...
For me it’s just the possibility of someone loving me
Is that possible?

I’m staring at the wall again
The razor blades in the bin
Red spattered across the floor
Scrolling through my phone
Swiping left
Swiping right
Hoping to find someone to love me tonight

All I can see are fake smiles to hide their boring lives
Using all sorts of tricks
Filters
Photoshop
Any way to allow them to pick
To pick, the cream of the crop

All I can see is shades of blue
Blue dripping on the floor
Feeling like my life is such a bore
I’m trapped in a cage and they have the keys
There only four walls and no door

Impressive!

I like the repeating stanza, it's very effective.

All I can see is shades of blue
Blue dripping on the floor
Feeling like my life is such a bore
I’m trapped in a cage and they have the keys
There only four walls and no door

The other element to the poem I like, is how you use the color blue, instead of red, which is pretty much a standard sometimes writing about love. Red roses, red tulips, etc.. The blue stands out, it's a much calmer color also. Great work!

I recommend reading three poems at Cosmofunnel, there are hundreds more. But today, I read two that stand out as excellent poems.

The Softest Illusion, by Cherie leigh, she is an artist with words.

The Man On The Hill, by Spencer Miller
It's a fun, fast pace story that includes animals, narrative, it's really a fun story.

This in so relatable and such an amazing read. Really puts feelings into words and ties into modern day problems and feelings.
