Poem -

Shadow in the Mirror

Look into my eyes,

what do you see?

I see an empty space,

A dark void that is missing life,

Black shadows that reflect my soul,

I see a wall of un-answered questions,

When I look in the mirror I wonder who is looking back at me,

A stranger who is pale,

Someone unknown,

But this never used to be,

I miss who I used to be,

A young woman with dreams,

Now all I have are nightmares,

Numbed with regrets,

Drowned out by sedation,

Pure pressured into temptation,

So let me ask you one more time,

What do you see when you look at me?

One day I hope you can say I see a successful woman,

With bright eyes and dreams for a better life,

Till then I will continue to look into those strangers eyes,

Till hopefully one day I can recognize that shadow in the mirror.

very beautiful poem, it is out of personal experience of course. It is very good to look into the mirror to see ourselves, can recognize who we are. the face will tell us the present of our mind.

The poet is hopeful on tomorrows, that is why really the life lead us forward. thanks dear

all the best, sayed
