Shadowed Into The Shadow Land

Shadowed Into The Shadow Land

Shadowed Into The Shadow Land
By Devon La Porte & Matt E. Hirsch

Just think to yourself, as you stand tall,
At your feet your shadow falls,
That there is a dark side to every man,
Far behind the fantasy, they dwell in the Shadow Land.

A land in which the sun passes by,
A vision of one immensely soaring high,
It may seem as a dream that will never die,
But what you believe to be true can be no lie.

A land, not a planet, some kind of other dimension,
That exists as the Earth's shadowed reflection,
Shadows of the day, shadowed into the night,
Not always meant to come into sight.

This shadow of yours and mine,
Is a lead figure following blind,
That fades from front to back,
Changing shapes of height but always remaining flat.

I see the shadows echo in reflection,
To appear an image not part of his selection,
An ideal design with no detail,
A secret descended from the sky above.

The blazing fire does not look so sinless,
The wave it breeds cannot be missed,
The element it brings is pure evil wretchedness,
To be sure you meet with your date with death.

All this pain in a moments cry,
All that's gone in a blink of an eye,
Will be no more than a shadowy man,
Coming from the depths of the shadow land.

As the light that shines upon casts my shadow to see,
The shadow in front is now hanging over me,
I do not worry when it falls behind,
For it's back out in front playing tricks on my mind.

This Illusion stays lingeringly pondered within my mind,
At first light when shadows cast is when we bind,
All along, this is what darkness had planned,
For we are all shadowed into the Shadow Land.
