Shadows

In shadows we see the world the way it used to be

before the metalicized humanity of buses

before our understanding of the tangible

changed from candlewebs and earthy imaginings

into colors that draw life from cement

and structures spun from the filaments

of minds that have forgotten who to kiss

Coldness made from contrived heat

Security born of no one's love

and communication

that has no time for eye to eye vulnerability.
