Shadows in the night 🦉

Shadows in the night 🦉

Oh the monotony of that middle of the night

When you are lying wide awake and there isn’t any light

And you can hear a hooting from a Tawny Owl up aheight

Yon clandestine creature is such a ghostly sight...
~
“Twit-too-woo” as you open your oogle eyes

Sitting perched on a branch underneath yon starry skies

Prowling for prey until the morning
sunrise

Camouflaged in the countryside with his dusky disguise...
~
“Thank you little Owl” for your delightful company

You have passed the wee small hours away and brought such joy for me

You and I are obviously similar we share the same you see

Both wide awake amidst the shadows in the night nocturnally....

Great write Jill another one to reread and treasure pinned and five majestic creature starry night stars.
And you might remember the late Gerry Rafferty song Night Owl.
Great poem. Great song.
