SHAKE THEIR IRON

SHAKE THEIR IRON
Ricardo Antonio Garcia
A Gun shoots a bullet and the metal is forged.
The bullet enters a human
and his death is eminently forged.
These forgings destroy life by its proxy
and no one should be ignorant
behind the machining murder of these receptacles
leaving the barrel of their Evils.
A Gun was created to kill.
Whether animal, foe or innocent bystander
they all will drop
like an autumn leaf by its tempered demise.
The proud Texan
will never part with his weapon of distinction
as armies of Mexicans shot back
looking to survive as bad as the other side.
Weapons of death shall haunt mankind’s Soul
for the aftermath of these disturbances
cannot be deemed an enlightening experience
as the holocaust still bears arms
outside the shapes of cowboy hats spearheaded
like bullets in the chamber.
Those with minds and heads
look upon these bleedings as exhaustive
failing to understand why men must kill other men
kissing their rifles like a buddy.
Cro-Magnon in its executions
it’s just the element of gun toting holders
believing in their personal power
when the heavy weight of its metal
clocks the chambers of their personality.
The same thinking applied
when impressionable young men believe in Country
disposing bullets into the chest of an enemy
pasting the grievance of murder
onto a flag
that is patronized by patriotic duty.
What we believe is not of our own thinking
as we would like to believe.
We that carry Guns
think it’s for our own protections.
A Gun will sit in its purse
waiting for a chance to kill something or someone.
We say that guns do not kill, but people kill.
I say that Guns have an established legacy
and nothing said can undermine their Evil presence.
People killing – is justified.
Why give people a way to exterminate each other?
The Andréa’s Fault of Guns
is looming on society along with its consequences.
Shall we wake up to its carnage
and the abuse of powers who shake their irons?

Hey Ricardo, your point was well presented, my friend, I'm from Canada, I've fired a gun only one time in Edmonton at a gun range, it was a rush...I know that not all Americans love guns, but perception can be tricky with this subject, for me anyway, but it's good to read you point of view on the matter; very educational and interesting....cheersÂ
