In The Shape Of A Woman
Last night, as I strolled through the gallery of Smithsonian delights
I saw a sculptured woman bathing in the museums twilight
Her curves were waving as though meant just for me
And so I looked around and found myself alone, standing there
Gazing upward into her history, her passions, her needs
And as the light grew dimmer I imagined such a life, where
Beauty beyond compare was just the daily norm, for although she was heavy
There was no public scorn or biting disapproval, only admiration
For she held proudly upon her demeanor, such pride in the shape of a woman
That all the world could see her, upon this marble base
Glowing from the inside and beauty spilling from her grace
I have never been so proud, standing there all alone, I found
That beauty always comes, in the shape of every woman
And every move they make..............
