She

She danced in her web with dark, but elegant, long, twisted legs.
Her mask of black seemed to cover her face.
Nothing but a shimmer of an hour glass tickled red on her stomach and nothing but the moon light reflected off her leathery back, softer than velvet.
She twirled and spun and then became very still.Β
As beautiful as she was, she was deadly as well.Β
For just one bite from her tiny fangs, could damage a mans life.
And as my dream of this poisonous creature continued, I vividly saw her on the hand of my friend, a child, not harming her at all.
Then as I awoke with a startled breath, Β I looked around my room wondering what the spider could have meant.Β
Am I hiding a war and cannot pick sides?
Apprehension and instability is what she symbolized...
But for what in my life, I do not know why.
And now I am and confused and slightly disturbed.
For I have dreamed many dreams, but none left me as uncomfortable as her.
And still she sits on her dew sprinkled web, waiting for a stranger to walk in it...
And maybe I am.Β
