But She Had Herpes Though!

It is a pity that we as men don' see most problems coming and the safest way to avoid them is as foggy as the little workings that hail their arrival. Overlooking this because of that, and accepting the other on accounts. So it was many years ago, when I spotted a beauty Queen standing at the bus-stop in what looked like the outfit of a life-time.
I did not bother to wave or speak to her for I felt she was way out of my league, and the dismiss at whatever gestures to make contact, would be more insulting then my desire for her attention. So I passed her by with as much sighting as was humanly possible for one or two and maybe three intense steers. The remnant feelings that were stolen from a perfect stranger kept me company till the curve and turn came and the bus had to be notified it was my turn to get off. She was a beauty, and she herself knew it, so what possibly could I add to the facts.
My big break came when a friend of mine stopped to give me a ride to work, and as we were driving, he too notice the beauty Queen standing by the bus stop and pulled over in front of her as if to talk to her. I felt sorry for the dude for he was no better equipped to hail her them me, and I felt I at least had an upper hand over him. Before I could blink or breath, the women was getting in the car smiling. Meet my sister my friend said politely. She reached out to take my hand with a smile, all I could do was offer it back with a look on my face I still wish I could have seen. She was so pleasant and nice and smelled like a flower garden. Warm and fussy, I got out at my stop, and held on to her hand a little too long by mistake. But what could I do, the chances of seeing her again was as remote, as would be a whiff of the garden again.
One day while out on my porch, doing my home sprucing, a well shaped woman was out walking, both for her good looks and her health. I did not want to steer at her, cause I lived so close to the road and that was expected of single men like me, and I refused to give in to that notion. So to my horror, my name was called out, and I turned to see what beautiful woman knew me by name. It was the beauty Queen from the bus-stop. I said you live around here, she said no, she was a teacher in a near by school, and this was her new walking route home. She asked me to join her on her walk, and tears almost came to my eyes as I said yes.
We talked and walk and related like champions, and before long both her and I knew enough about each other to consider ourselves close friends. She then came to my house and asked if it was alright to use my home as a get away from her job. She being a good cook and me a great eater, she could do her school work and I could have something nice to eat when I came home from work. I felt it was a great idea, and asked her how soon she wanted to start. I should have known by her smile I was in for the ride of my life. But was none the wiser when I handed her a key to my apartment. That first day I came home to a home cook meal for free, and pie dressed up with fixings was too good to be true. A lipstick note on my mirror welcomed me to heaven and I was loving everything.
Before long the beauty and I were like two peas in a pod, no sex, or foolishness like that, just friends enjoying each others company. Now dont get me wrong, I would have love to hit that, if God was not watching, but as it turned out, He neither slumbers or sleeps. Being a perfect gentleman was not working out for her. She wanted me to get a bit more closer, and I was wondering how close is close until she had had enough of my foolish boy charm. Look, she said, I have fallen for you, and I need to get away from you to cool off.
Mean while back at the church was a sister who wanted to sing special music with me, and made her way to my home with a track so that we could practice. I felt it was harmless enough, so I let her in, and we had a chit chat and before long we had our voices blending enough to do a duet in church with no problems. After a bit of small talk, she hugged me like a sister should, and left as she came, freely. After we sang in church and it was a great success, she told me of another song she had and would love to one day come and share it with me. I told her my house was always open, and did not know how that came across, but before long the door seemed to swing open wide enough to let her in somewhere way pass evening.
Looking at her in the heart of night, was odd for a rehearsal, but I opened the door and turned the light on only to see the tracks of her tears and knew she was not here for a casual visit. She began to pour her heart out to me, about what took her by storm. Turned out that her last visit to the doctor was a disaster. Some way, the doctor managed to give her the worst case of herpes on record. Using an instrument without sterilization, the Doctor inserted the instrument up her personal business and infected her worst then the patient he had treated with the same device. And right there in my room, she wanted to know if she was welcomed in my home, for even her boyfriend did not want any thing to do with her according to her report. By time she finished her story, it was pass the time for the last bus, and she could not get home, and the length of her home from mine was beyond taxi fare even if both of us chipped in. So I offered her a spot on my bed while I took the floor for the night.
While the night was as odd as I thought it could get, before I could recover from the story just related, there was a rattle at the door, and in the dark of night, a form entered the room. Who ever it was that came in, did not notice me on the floor jumped into the bed as if it was expected. I jumped up and turned on the light and the two women startled each other as they then turned both sets of eyes towards me. Lord! how do I get myself in these things? BUT SHE HAD HERPES THOUGH!!!
