She Knew....

She saw it in his eyes, he wasn’t exactly sly
All he told were lies, she simply wondered why?
She heard it in his voice, words all of a sudden hollow
He had made his choice, she felt only sorrow
She sensed it in his touch, want that wasn’t there
He made excuses and such, because he didn’t care
She knew it in her heart, didn’t want to believe
Could not bear to part and not bold enough to leave
It wasn’t til she smelled that woman on his skin
That she was compelled to free herself from him
