SHE WORE A RED APRON

SHE WORE A RED APRON

I am the BarronĀ
That was at last nights ball
I was seated next to crowned prince
Under the King's pictureĀ
On the western wall

Don't be shocked or alarmedĀ
By my soon returnĀ
It's a matter of urgencyĀ
So please, help me

Last night while dancingĀ
With princess Ann
I saw Ā a young ladyĀ
Dressed in black
With a red apronĀ

Her skin were as silk
Gentle to the touchĀ
Her smile was as the sun on the horizon
Or an angel's blushĀ

My heart was made merryĀ
My mind in a dazeĀ
I prayed for the song to be overĀ
But from my eyes she disappearedĀ

Please tell meĀ
Where can I find her, what is her nameĀ
I will give all of my richesĀ
To behold her faceĀ

Just follow the sand tracksĀ
To the servants cabinĀ
There you will findĀ
Your fair lady, The kings servant
Wearing the red apron.

Wilford Barker.

Wilford, if I may call you Wilford this is the first poem I have read by your good self and sir, it won't be the last.
Superb in every detail, not a word wasted or out of place and so beautifully imagined and delivered.
Love how it journey's its beat ,flow rhyme scheme to reach a conclusion poetically sublime.
A great read and pinned and full worthy honours respectfully bestowed.
Thank you for sharing and simply enjoy life and poetry and all the good virtues each can happily bestow.

Hello Shaun Cronick.
I am blown away by such wonderful comments.
Laying on my bed this Saturday evening,
putting my thoughts on my Ā antique iPod Ā
I never believed that I would of been the Ā recipient Ā
Of such encouragement and kindness.
Thank you for your unselfishness and compassion.
