She's my baby girl..

She's got her name in lights every night in her fathers eyes
She reads to escape and its never too late for her to turn another page 
She's an angel putting out the devil's flame  trying to figure out what's beneath
She'll keep headstrong even inside her prison walls she'll never leave 

The weight is on her shoulders and her feelings are unfolding
I forget she's a young woman and i should be more understanding
Life was so simple when I was young 
Now it's too complex for my little girl 
She needs to know that she's  my world 
She needs to know she's my girl 

Life is too precious to waste and for her delicate heart I will keep praying
I wonder what she craves, she may just want someone to catch her tears 
She might feel locked up, sick and tired of having a conversation with herself 
Hold on sweetie just listen to your heart and don't be afraid of your fears 

She challenged herself in silence so she wouldn't break others
Her beautiful innocent soul thought that if she spoke she'd be a burden
If I'm her friend, dad and a mother once again she'll become a dreamer 
I know and believe that she's a happy soul and in time things will get better
