Shivers

stormy night
with thunder claps
whistling wind
in crevasses
are trapped
squeaky rotten
windows that rock
swaying to the tune
of the grandfather clock
tick, tock
floors that creak
from underfoot
lights that flicker
shadows mistook
open eyes,
one last look
peruse the room
ears pricked up
listening intently
from where that
booked dropped
eeri sounds
around the room
installing fear
and impending doom
thunder claps
outside go
BOOM!
shaking all
of the room
shivers run
down your spine
goose bumps protrude
and rise up high
as you lie there
eyes wide
to scared to move
doesn't matter
if you crave food
you're not going
anywhere
not with whats
hovering above the stairs
and throwing chairs
floating
like a kite
blood red eyes
light up the night
bony fingers point
your way
duvet comes up
and over head
wishing you where
somewhere else
other than bed
as you hold on for day of life
looking over to your wife
covers pull from your hand
face to face now
you stand
staring upon
a soul
of unrest
cross your heart
hoping you are blessed
looking deep into
its eyes
blood now trickles
from your eyes
skin bulks up
like you have hives
softy, softly
you slip away
never going to
see another day
laid there in a pool
of blood
wife not moving
who you loved
sleeping blissfully
as you pass away
close your eyes
night turns to day
or some bright light
takes you away
and there you'll stay
you get to live
forever and a day
