Shooters- Fort Lauderdale

Shooters- Fort Lauderdale

Divorced in the early eighties, living in North Miami Beach;
There was a place I was a regular, about twenty minutes reach!
It’s called Shooter’s Bar and Restaurant, on the Intercoastal Way;
A great venue to meet hot singles, who hung there to drink and play!
.
The crowd was ultra-urbane, so suave and debonair;
In those days, the world was different, an abduction very rare!
The ladies were extra classy, they came there straight from work;
In tight skirts and high heels, bodies to drive a man berserk!
.
But my favorite time to visit, was football Sundays in the Fall;
For they opened at eleven, but till noon could sell no alcohol!
So they poured free champagne cocktails, for an hour at the bar;
I’d give the tender a crispy Abe Lincoln, say “Keep my glass well up to par”!
.
I’d have one every six minutes, get a buzz beyond belief;
Meet girls who got wild and crazy, get a kiss and hug real brief!
Then at noon, we’d order hot food, to soak up all the booze;
And try to make a connection, where a future date ensued!
.
.
Sundays at Shooters
Get high and try to get down
Love was in the air

Awesome LARRY!!.....I say that like they said in the 80's......Awesome Dude!!  (smiles)......I remember those days SO very well.... even though one would think that you might 'black out' most of it!!...... It's because I was a DJ back in those days and meeting women was like picking coconuts from the trees...... Especially when you're the Club's DJ and knew EVERONE and how to get ANYTHING!!.... Truly a blast brother!!.... thank you so much for bringing that all back for a minute........ You are SO good at conveying memories through the narrative genre .........and you do such a good job at choosing subject matter!!........ALL STARS!! & PINNED!!..........ROCK ON! BROTHER! (more smiles)...... Lots of Love to you and LINDA!!........ Peace!........T xo. : )

My Dear Tony,

Hey Dude, you bring to light another period of your amazing life!  A DJ?  Like Wow Man!!  I imagine not only were you picking coconuts, but a few cherries too.  What city were you in when you DJ'ed?  Before I met Linda in Boston, I had a brief fling with a hot Greek girl karaoke DJ.  She had waist-length black curly hair, a beautiful face, and a killer body.  I guess that I just hit all the right notes.  Unfortunately, she was already pretty much spoken for.
Thank you for another awesome comment.

Love you Bro,
Larry xxx

YES LARRY!!  A DJ!!......I was the house DJ at a VERY well known club in Chicago called MOTHERS!!....I would spin on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights which were the Primo dance nights......I had lasers, confetti cannons, spotlights, and floor lights at my control and because it was the early Nineties I was still spinning 80'sm music along with the newest club music......I basically did whatever I wanted after I became well known enough to have people coming just to hear me spin..... and Oh My God, some of the tips I got just for playing a requested song was off the charts......I could tell you some crazy stories brother.... but I don't think I should do that here.... plus, Cherie doesn't know many of those stories.... nor does she care too!! (smiles)...... anyway, I'll have to go into those with you sometime...... anyway, I hope that gives you some idea!!..... talk soon my friend...... peace n Stuff!!......T xo. : )

Hey, Bro!

When I was in my early twenties, I used to go to Chicago with my father for sales meetings, and a few times hit the clubs on Rush Street.  Those were really great times.

Peace, Love, and Spinning,
Larry xxx

P.S.  I'd love to hear your stories sometime.
