Shoved in the Spotlight

There am I stood nervously in the spotlight
Shoved shamelessly out of the curtain on the stage
What are you doing putting me in the crowds sight
Get me out now from this lionβs cage
There is muffled silence from the aisles as I look
Brimming to capacity of curious stares
Oh my God, please someone throw me a book
Make it be a bible I can say my prayers
Have I practised a verse or perhaps a dance
I am smacked in awe in a stage struck trance
A lost moment of memory,
I think Iβm going to be sick
Then you entered the stageΒ
& Grab my arm with a flick
We are embraced together
You lead the floor
I follow your eagerness
As we move galore
Twisting, jolting, pirouette spins
Both attired in grandeur dress
Sequined & studded in flamboyant finesse
Roars & clapping can be heard
Cheering appraisal & the βbravoβ word
We are in an ecstacy lost in our bubble
The crowds shout for more
We can oblige without trouble
I mimic your rhumba with mirrored moves
Listening to the rhythmn of the drum beat grooves
You push me away holding my arm in a flash
Then I am tossed in the air grabbing onto your sash
Wow,Β what a performance
I cannot believe what I have done
Entertaining the audience
Well that was such good fun
Yes I am a dancer, how on earth did I forget
Ah, but it was only the nerves
A usual onset of panic & sweat
