Show Me The Money
Where did all the money go, that I earned throughout my life;
Fortunes that were made and lost, oft times riches running rife!
I should have been a millionaire, more funds than Iâd ever need;
But lifeâs adversities condemned me, along with hedonistic greed!
.
For each time the Forbidden Apple, was offered by Satan to me;
I veered from the path of righteousness, and consumed it voraciously!
I look back now on all my weakness, wishing I could have another chance;
To never leave the Garden of Eden, thwart temptationâs tireless advance!
.
But to quote a hackneyed adage, hindsightâs twenty-twenty plus;
The present you are stuck in, has thrown you âneath the bus!
I feel so very helpless, my mistakes I will ever rue;
A saddened septuagenarian, wondering what he is to do!
.
Can I rekindle my perspicacity, and earn riches one more time?
Or am I destined to be a mendicant, never again to reach my prime!
Only time will give the answer, can my Ark again find land?
To prevent my worldâs destruction, and on my laurels make a stand!

Or can this old man come back
Earn his last fortune
