Sight the Sound (Ode to the Drowner)

Sight the Sound (Ode to the Drowner)

Do you remember me?
Walking down the street, you said “no dear, we aren’t free.”
But suppose I could see?

Not be blinded, by the illusions we speak of, in words we can’t hear.
If sight was the sound, then motion could free everything.

Don’t waste your life, chasing your fears.
One day, it will end.

Holding my breath underwater.
Even though I can breathe, I don’t
bother.
I am here.
Because, what’s the point, when everything is falling to the ground?

Know.
No.
We aren’t safe or sound.
So throw it in there.
Burn it inside the furnace.

Holding on, until I let go.
