In Silence

Sometimes your silence
speaks louder to me than
words or actions.

More than when we embrace.
Or make love
Or talk for hours into the night.

In the silence
I feel the you inside.
And I am closer to you than ever
Our silence is communication
Of the peace and tranquility
we bring to each other.

Sometimes
when you speak to me
I look away from you.
I am not confused then,
with your beauty
or by love or infatuation.
But I feel your words
and hear your feelings better.

So sometimes
 if you talk to me
In your silent thoughts
and I look away from you.
It is because
I feel a need 
to be close to you.
