Poem -

Silent Lips

Silent Lips

I told the stars about you, whispered words that tumbled haphazardly
from liquid lips,
but I didn’t tell you.
I wrote in my diary in fancy script all loops and scrolls adorning it how
wonderful you were,
but I didn’t tell you
With friends in giggly groups exchanging secret passions, childish hopes ,
I weaved my dreams,
but I didn’t tell you
I hoped my glances slyly taken, might speak  to your unknowing heart,
and opened it to me,
but I didn’t tell you
And life moved on, each on a different path, bittersweet but with a friendship
that innocently endured,
but I didn’t tell you.
And today I stand here, a single rose in my hand ,to place on your ebony casket,
regret breaking my heart,
and with silent lips,
I finally told you.

How many times do we not say the important things and yet carelessly let rip with the unimportant waffle?  I guess that's life though. Thanks so much Greg always appreciate your comments  xx

Hi Lodigiana...It is so important to tell people the things on our heart before they are gone, or we are gone.  Regret is so hard to live with...I think many can relate to this poem...Great work. xo ;)
