The Silver stream (extract)

The Silver stream (extract)

Before sleep claimed me I thought , I thought I saw your silhouette in the distance

coming down the dirt road that leads

to the rusted metal gate that moans when the south easter race  through

the willows and ferns that grow by the side of the road

In June the road is muddy , the green hill turns slate

and the oaks drink their fill .

I basked now in the beauty of all the seasons

and just as the three I can stand for hours

and study the lilac petals in bloom and let the gentle rays of

the fading winter sun warm my brow .

The stream runs crystal clear , clear enough to see my reflection

merge with the glorious sky and earth.

I am reminded that we are all one , all part of this wonderful art piece called life

My being here is gift enough my wanting to be here is deliberate , I will drink it all in like

a new born reaching for it's mother's breast and suck the life into me

One with sky , earth and all living beings

related to the oaks and willows alive like the storm . . . still like the stream .

Wonderful piece to take you away from the stress of urban life ! It brought memories to me of holidays in the countryside where I enjoyed the delights of beautiful streams as you describe.

Thank you for sharing !

Best wishes to you !  :)
