Scents of childhood

Scents of childhood

Ā There is a placeĀ  in the woods , far from where I live now further than my forty summers , further than my ancient grandfather's sepia toned memories.

If peace be a place then peace be this place . Here by the lake on the fallen sun bleached eucalyptus I inhale the stillness of life - yielding and peaceful so is this fallen giant that offered no resistance when it tumbled , seeking noĀ  explanation.

long ago it offered shade on sun blessed day's - now it is a place of rest for my seat and it's scents a balm to my soul .

I closed my eyes and become one with the tree ,the placid lake and the ancient voices of this enchanted place whisper words of wisdom ,words of hope love and peace .

I might never return here and I will never leave .
