Sixty-Five

Exactly sixty-five years ago, June 1st, nineteen fifty-three;
Elizabeth had her coronation, as lovely as could be!
Also on that day in America, another royal girl was born;
The most beautiful in all the land, a crown soon her adorned!
.
They named her Princess Melodee, dressed her up in the finest lace;
Long blond curls fell down her back, and framed her lovely face!
Each year she grew more beautiful, the lads from all the land;
Were smitten with her loveliness, and sought to take her hand!
.
In college she shone brilliantly, the highest upper rung;
Her professors all were so impressed, great praise about her sung!
She graduated with top honors, then got her MBA;
But then there came a philanderer, she met on an ill-fated day!
.
She fell in love so instantly, but for him, it was all a game;
He married her very quickly, to seek her wealth and fame!
Eventually the cretin broke her heart, and she ended all her pain;
Today, she’d have turned sixty-five, in my Soul my sister e’er remains!
.
.
My sweet Melodee
You were a little Princess
Your brother’s treasure

Dear Syd,
Your beautiful words bring tears to my eyes. Yesterday was very difficult on me, for my only sibling, my beautiful little Princess, would have turned sixty-five.
Peace and Love,

Dear Terry,
Thank you for your lovely words; they have moved me deeply.
I have quickly scanned your lovely poem "Smile to My Face", and I will be writing my comment on it in the early hours of tomorrow morning, which is when I do most of my responses. You will also notice that I do most of them poetically.
Peace and Love,
Larry
Yes indeed you are a talented poet. I don't consider myself a poet but I enjoy putting my heart on paper and blessed that I even get responses from talents like yourself. A kindered spirit is a comfort in life's hardest pain.. It's like a deposit of warmth and comfort for the heart for me. Thank you.
Dear Terry,
Please don't sell yourself short. You have "beautiful poetry" that flows ever gently from your heart and Soul, and it is I who is honored to read it.
Peace and love,
Larry xxx
