Skedaddling Bats 🦇

Skedaddling Bats 🦇

Tis’ the twighlight of the evening
the summer sun has gone to rest
As I lie upon a hammock
I spy the bats out on their quest
Pipistrelle and Brown long-eared
whilst the latter is so small
they fly flapping in a frenzied flight past my garden wall

Zooming, zapping, zig-zagging
Whoosh they race at pace
looking like little vampires
on a blood-curdled chase
I’ve counted quite a few of them
must be a dozen or maybes more
Searching out the tiny insects
thats lingering by my door

Dusk is the time that hungry bats like best
small skinny leather-like creatures
so zippy with zest
As fast as any lightening
tho as quiet as a mouse
when the full moon’s face has manifest
Speeding secretly around my house

Skittering, skidaddling
swishing to & fro
They cannot see a thing
yet are so careful where they go
Such sharp pointy front teeth
resembling a river rat
Oh how you mystify me
little brownish grey zany bat

Jill nicely expressed and I'd be batty (ouch!) not to give five stars!!😃
And you  deserve another five stars for using the word Skedaddling, great word! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for sharing and pinned as well to show my daughter, who'll love it.❤️
Have a great day and it's getting brighter out there.
