Skin graft

Chipped, charred

melted in places and boiling in others

like lava down my spine

Ā

Scarred, scared

new and fresh like a beginning

like spring after winter

Broken, bruised

uneven lines of memories behind me

like a past I want to forget

pale,poised

butterfly wings sewn to my being

they break free as I fly

muscles rippling

breaking

tearing

as i soar into the ground

Unbearable
