Sleep Grazing
In the last twenty years of my existence, my sleep patterns have greatly changed;
I have accepted that I am a grazer, and my life-style rearranged!
Irregular, but so consistent, are the periods that I doze;
So rarely, more than a few hours, before my body is rearose!
.
The wee hours are my favorites, from one to six a.m.;
I write, I cook, I exercise, no concern for REMs!
But when fatigue decides to beckon me, I ignore not it’s request;
I close my eyes and regenerate, at my tired body’s behest!
.
I’m so happy that I can do this, and not have to sleep my life away;
So many of my contemporaries, need eight to ten hours a day!
For at my age, one’s years are limited, who wants to slumber in a bed;
I want to be awake for as long as possible, ideas and thoughts to my brain fed!
.
.
I eschew slumber
Graze periodically
Refreshing respites

Oh, I like this poem. You are so lucky. I'm like a bear over winter. I like to sleep.
My Dear Katina,
I realize that many people need to have a lot of sleep, to get their "bearings". Ha, Ha! Glad you liked the poem.
All my love,

Hi Larry,
I ran out of one of my sleeping medications last night, so I've literally been reading for the past nine hours. I hope some of the words are retrievable later. I so love to sleep. I use CPAP, and if you've ever known a person to wear one of the large face masks, sometimes I feel like I’m gasping for air in the middle of the night. Having sleep apnea stinks! You are always tired, even with the machine. Glad you don't need as much sleep as me. Some day's it's coma city!
You are brilliant !!!???
My Dear Jill,
"Go ahead, make my day"!!
All my love,
Larry xxx
