SLEEPING WITH ANIMALS

 
Is it strange to take a chicken to my bed ?
Not a usual occurrence it has to be said 
Don't get much sleep that's for certain 
Good job the neighbours can't see behind my curtain 

Is it weird to take a cat to my bed ?
I would of course prefer the chicken instead
The cat is constantly whining for cream 
Makes it difficult to settle down and dream 

Is it normal to take a parrot to my bed ? 
Constantly talking messes with my head
The parrot doesn't care and talks all night
From bedtime to the early morning light 

So tonight I will go to my bed on my own 
Sleeping with animals is hard as this poem has shown
