Sleepless

Sleepless

Eyes weary
body shattered
Mind whirring
thoughts mattered
clock ticking
Conscience pricking
Turning over and over
Swap the pillow
Kick off the cover
Too hot then too cold
When will sleep enfold
Clock still ticking
3am 4am 5am
Still no sleep
Another hour and I need to be up
close my eyes and fall into the deep .
Body relaxes .
Shrill noise awakes from slumber ,
Another five do I dare?
I drift off with out a care.
